Etchings

Steel plate etching is a long and highly technical process using acid to engrave marks in metal. The plate is then inked up and put through a press, with the potential to make multiple identical prints. Associated with the Old Masters, such as Goya’s Disaster series, etching has connotations of high art and in one sense validates the subject matter I depict. I wanted to entrench the idea of an AF1 or a 95 trainer as an important marker of our times.
